(September 2003) Mattewos (middle) pastored the church next door when I lived in Addis Ababa (1977-1983). I knew him and Itaferu (left)before they were married and count them among my closest friends. Ruth Cremer (right) headed up the translation and literacy work in the Kafa language until the Lord took her home in March, 2008. She was also a good friend. She always made sure I was well-fed when I was in Addis Ababa. I hope to encourage the Kafa translation team whenever I am Addis Ababa, and may act as consultant for their Old Testament translation.
